WTVC, newschannel9: After customers complaints, we stopped by the U.S. Post Office in Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., on Monday to find several pallets worth of packages and mail that sat out in the rain over the weekend.

Tuesday we returned to find some packages had been moved around, but there were still a lot of unwrapped packages left in the parking lot.

When speaking to a couple of residents at the post office, they said they think the packages in the back are from Amazon and UPS delivering packages for the holiday to be sent out.

Monday when we took residents concerns to the post office, a spokesperson told us that this pile up came from increased volume of mail.

That was more than 24 hours ago. We’ll keep monitoring this situation and let you know what happens.

Nearly one month after we first reported problems customers of the U.S. Post Office in Soddy-Daisy were having with getting their mail, at least one resident now says “it’s gotten worse.”

After getting a tip from a viewer Monday morning, we flew our NewsChannel 9 SkyView camera over the post office in Soddy-Daisy.

The viewer said that several pallets worth of packages and mail sat out in the rain over the weekend.

The viewer also shared concerns that an enterprising criminal had easy access to the packages.
