AL.com: The United States Postal Service is considering relocating the only post office in Mountain Brook, Alabama.

The post office at 2701 A Culver Rd. in Mountain Brook Village could be moved “to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the existing location,” the Postal Service said in a letter to Mountain Brook Mayor Stewart Welch.

A public hearing on the possible relocation will be held at 4:30 p.m. on May 10 at Mountain Brook City Hall.

Mountain Brook City Manager Sam Gaston said the post office may be relocated because the lease is up at its current location due to the redevelopment of Lane Parke. The post office may relocate in phase two of Lane Parke, or possibly be consolidated with the Crestline branch in Birmingham.  Read more.
