RecordCourier.com: Because of structural and safety concerns, the building that houses the Topaz, Calif., Post Office located at 11 Topaz Lane has been permanently vacated.

On May 27, 2016, the building was emergency suspended because it was no longer safe for employees or customers.

At a public meeting on May 11, 2017, the Postal Service discussed options and received community feedback. Written feedback was also submitted to USPS and evaluated before a decision was made.

On July 24, USPS issued a final decision letter regarding the current building and began to pursue other options to relocate to a different location in Topaz.

During this process, the Coleville Post Office, located at 111747 Highway 395 South has been handling all mail operations. Coleville is about 3.5 miles from Topaz.

Coleville has 24-hour lobby access for customer convenience.  Read more.
