Palo Alto Online: Customers of the East Palo Alto, Calif., branch post office will soon need to send their letters and packages from a new location, following the landlord of its current Bay Road location choosing to not renew the lease and instead redevelop the property, according to the U.S. Postal Service.
The agency is now looking to hear from community members and share initial plans for relocation at a public meeting this Monday, June 18, which is required under Postal Service policy.
The Postal Service has not made public how the landlord plans to redevelop the property and which developers might be involved. The meeting is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the plans for the new location, suggest potential relocation sites and express any questions or concerns. Read more.
(According to the USPS facilities report, the lease on the post office ends June 30, 2018. The news report doesn’t indicate if there’s been an extension on the lease.)
