Suwannee Democrat: The United States Postal Service may soon be delivering a new post office to Live Oak, Florida. The USPS is holding a public meeting next week to discuss relocating the Live Oak Post Office, currently at 400 Ohio Ave. S.
The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Live Oak City Hall, 101 White Ave. SE. Officials with the USPS Facilities Department will be present to share information and answer questions.
The U.S. Postal Service is currently considering a potential relocation of the post office to a yet-to-be-determined location. According to the USPS spokesperson Kanickewa Johnson, the potential new location will be as close as possible to the current post office in order to better serve postal customers. Read more.
The Suwannee Democrat article doesn’t say anything about the historic post office building, but if there are plans to relocate, there are also plans to sell the building. The Live Oak post office was built in 1915.
