Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association weighs in on sale of Berkeley PO

The Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association (BAHA) has written a letter to the Postal Service challenging the USPS finding of no significant impact with regard to the disposal of the historic Berkeley post office.  BAHA reiterates the Berkeley City Council’s request that any action concerning the proposed sale of the Post Office be deferred for a one-year term in order to explore a negotiated outcome.  BAHA also concurs with the Berkeley City Council’s statement that a Section 106 process cannot be lawfully completed without an environmental impact statement (EIS) as required by NEPA.  The letter is here.
