World Stamp Show comes to New York, May 28 – June 4

The World Stamp Show-NY 2016 is a once-in-a-decade event.  It will take place May 28 through June 4 at the Javits Center in New York City.  Admission is free.  Designated as a “World Stamp Exhibition” by the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP), WSS-NY 2016 will provide all show-goers with a unique experience combining the passion of stamp collecting with the fun and excitement of everything New York City has to offer.   Over 250,000 people are expected to pass through the show doors over the eight days.  The event features more than 200 dealers and postal administrations selling and buying philatelic material of all kinds, as well as exhibits displaying priceless stamp rarities, auctions, seminars, youth and beginner activities, and first day ceremonies sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service, U.N. Postal Administration and other nations.  Two presentations by members of the Postmark Collectors Club will focus on post office photographs.  On June 1, Steven Bahnsen will give a presentation on post office photographs across the country, and on June 3, Evan Kalish will focus on New York City post offices.  Visit the websiteFacebook page, and fact sheet.
